Groesbeck High School Student Athletic Training Program
This program offers students the unique opportunity to get hands-on experience in the field of Sports Medicine under the supervision of the Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT). On a daily basis, students are taught and exposed to proper hydration practices, first aid, management of an athletic training facility, taping/bracing techniques, prevention of injuries, and basic rehabilitation.
The commitment of a Student Athletic Trainer is not something that is taken lightly. Every day, they report to the fieldhouse for a class that is taught by the LAT, at which time they learn and practice new skills/competencies, keep the athletic training room clean and tidy, and set up for practices/games. They are also instrumental in helping the LAT with daily treatment for injured athletes. This allows for a more efficient process in making sure every athlete that comes through the door is guaranteed the attention they need for their injury.
If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a part of this program, come see Ms. Adams in the fieldhouse!
