Food Benefits for Families

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is a one-time food benefit for families who lost access to free or reduced-price meals due to school closures. Eligible P-EBT families will receive application instructions from schools in late May. The P-EBT application will open the first week of June.

P-EBT food benefits are for children who received SNAP food benefits for March 2020 and children who are certified for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2019-20 Texas school year. For more information, visit: Texas Department of Health and Human Services Pandemic-EBT (P-EBT) Due to COVID-19

to Reopen June 1

Consistent with the guidance from Governor Abbott, we will reopen the GISD offices beginning June 1.  We will follow summer office hours which are 7:30 - 5:00 Monday - Wednesday, 7:30 - 4:30 on Thursday, closed on Friday.  Kids Kare will operate on day care hours.  Staff members who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 will not be allowed to enter the workplace.

While visiting the workplace you are strongly encouraged, but not required, to wear a non-medical grade face covering.  We will also maintain social distancing working at least 6 feet apart from others. No groups of more than 11 individuals should be in any one area.

We will limit the number of individuals who enter our buildings to those who have essential business. Visitors will be screened prior to allowing them to enter a building. If you need to meet with someone on a campus, for your convenience, please call and make an appointment.  A schedule with set meeting times will be used to limit the number of people in the offices.

Infected No Symptoms

Infected and No SymptomsThe virus lives in tiny droplets in the lungs of people w/ COVID-19, even when they don’t show symptoms. We can breathe the same air as anyone within abt. 6 ft. of us. Staying farther apart from people during this time reduces the chance of breathing in the virus. #StayHomeTexas

#StayHomeTexas

CoughingCover Cough

Coughing & sneezing can send tiny infected droplets into the air which can be inhaled by anyone w/in 6 feet. Cough & sneeze into your elbow to lessen the risk.

The SpreadPeople with no symptoms have the potential to unknowingly spread COVID-19! That’s why it’s best for everyone in your family to stay at home and away from others as much as possible until instructed otherwise from state and local officials. #StayHomeTexas

#StayHomeTexas

Don’t Go Viral
No te Vuelvas Viral

Wear a mask

#COVID19 lives on droplets in the lungs of people with the virus, even if they don’t have symptoms. When infected people breathe, the virus enters the air. If you can’t #StayHome, wear a mask/scarf/bandana, stay 6 feet apart, and wash your hands.  #DontGoViral

Social DistancingTexas, remember the importance of social distancing. If you must go out, avoid public spaces and keep your distance from others (at least 6 feet). If we continue to follow valuable public health guidance, fewer of our friends & family will be affected by COVID-19. #StayHomeTexas

#StayHomeTexas

COVID-19 – Stay Home When Sick

Stay Home When Sick

Before social distancing, each person with #COVID19 spread the virus to 2.5 more people. At that pace, most would get it, and many more people would die. But we can slow the spread.  That’s why we all #StayHome.  #ApartTogether we slow coronavirus.

Don't spread germs

You can spread #COVID19 without knowing you have it. Whether you have symptoms or not, #StayHome. If you have to go out, wear a mask/bandana/scarf, regularly wash your hands, and stay 6 feet apart. We must stay #ApartTogether to slow coronavirus.

At Groesbeck ISD, we miss our students, and hope you are all well. This important message about COVID-19 will help to keep you safe and healthy. The most important thing you can do right now is stay at home! If that’s not possible, practice social distancing by staying 6 feet from others. Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs and countertops. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth, and cover a cough or sneeze with your elbow. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 – a fever, dry cough, or shortness of breath, call your doctor. Remember, by staying apart now, we can all be together again faster!

Apart we stand together
